Including “The frontier in space” this was Jon Pertwee’s third story out of four which the evil daleks appeared in and even though this 6 part story does drag on at times, the doctor, Jo and the daleks make this a classic watchable “Doctor who” story. The story is also very well written by Terry Nation who also wrote the classic Tom Baker story “Genesis of the daleks” which Dalek leader Davros had his first appearance. However “Planet of the daleks” is not as good as “Genesis of the daleks” but it is still worth watching and it is definitely in my top 10 Pertwee stories along with “Spearhead from space” and “Inferno”. If you are a “Doctor who” fan then this is well worth watching.
