Dalek Paradigm Scientist I think this toy is an absolutely fantastic figure. They are far bigger than the previous Dalek figures which is a good feature. The head dome rotates a full 360 degrees. The eyestalk moves up and down like the old Daleks did. The sucker arm turns all around and the blaster does the same. The blaster on the Dalek Scientist seems far stronger than the ones on the Dalek Strategist and Drone. The base on the Dalek is similar to the classic 1960s Dalek base. On the bottom of the Dalek there are three wheels that turn 360 degrees unlike the old daleks which only had one wheel that turned 360 degrees. The paintwork is excellent quality and a beautiful orange, not the best of colours in the new paradigm but still very good. An excellent figure overall.
It’s Orange! A nice model of one of the new ‘Gay Daleks’, sporting, as they do, the colours of the Rainbow Flag. This one is very popular in Blackpool, as it’s in the colour of the town’s football team. Anyway, the Dalek itslef is very well recreated. It feels quite sturdy. The only word of caution would be to be careful when removing it from the package, as (like every other thing nowadays) it’s secured by about a million packaging ties, and this can lead to the eye and arms being badly bent if your not careful. To sum up… it’s a Dalek. An orange Dalek.
Scientist of the Daleks Another Doctor Who action figure, this one depicting one of the new kind of Daleks first seen in the tv episode ‘Victory of The Daleks.’ A redesign of the Daleks that attracted a fair amount of opinion. A lot of which was negative. But if you don’t mind the new look and you want the figure, then what’s it like?It comes in packaging with a sturdy cardboard backing and a strong clear plastic front. The packaging allows for the figure to be displayed very nicely without being taken out of it. But if you take it out, then you won’t be able to get it back in.This is of the Dalek Scientist, the orange coloured one of the new Daleks. Like the new Daleks on tv, it’s bigger and sturdier than the earlier versions. Thanks not least to a very large base. The middle section that the gun and sucker fit onto is fixed in place, but it’s very sturdy, although the gun and sucker arm can be removed. Thus this has parts that are choking hazards and is not recommended for those under three. The eye stalk can also be removed. The top of the dome can be turned around and the three appendages can be moved up and down but those are the only bits of articulation that it has.But it’s big and sturdy and feels ever so solid. And it glides along nicely thanks to the three wheels on the base. It’s a fine recreation of this type of Dalek.
