One thought on “Sherlock Holmes Meets Doctor Who Music for Brass…”
Not just for Doctor Who fans Carey Blyton’s work extends far beyond three Doctor Who stories from the early 1970s…but there’s no surer way to movie a few copies than to mention Doctor Who on the cover, is there? It’s actually a collection of new arrangements and performances of several vintage Blyton pieces, including music that was originally composed for an aborted animated retelling of Sherlock Holmes. The music is actually quite relaxing in a jaunty and not-overblown sort of way. Suites of music from Blyton’s three Doctor Who outings are included, and though some fans may be dismayed that they aren’t the original recordings, it should be pointed out that these are the only recordings of the scores in question on record at the moment – and really, they’re quite good.
